Dr. Richard Faessel, a Research Associate in the School of Education, is Administrator of Tk20, a state-of-the-art computing system that provides assessment, planning, and reporting solutions for UWF.
Faessel, who received his doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from UWF, focuses on instructional technology. He has developed online curriculum as an adjunct instructor in addition to serving as the technical coordinator for the College of Professional Studies.
He has been teaching and training in both education and private industry for 20 years. His research interests include the effects of computer-based instruction on self-regulation and motivation among middle school students.
Faessel’s expertise includes web-based instruction and development, telecommunications, distance education, software evaluations and web page development.
He has designed and taught courses for both graduate and undergraduate students. Course titles include Trends/Issues in Education, Learning and Instruction, and Curriculum and Planning.
Faessel co-authored “The Need for Paradigmatic Change in Juvenile Correctional Education,” published by Preventing School Failure.
He has a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Training Management and a B.S. in Technical/Vocational Studies/Vocational Programs, both from UWF.
