Dr. Patricia Wentz, a Professor of Educational Leadership, holds a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, where her major was Educational Psychology and her minors were Sociology and Curriculum & Instruction.

Wentz wrote The Student Teaching Experience: Cases from the Classroom, 2nd Edition, published by Merrill/Prentice Hall.

Her research has appeared in National Social Science Journal, National Social Science Perspectives Journal, International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, and Florida Journal of Educational Research, among others.

In her research, Wentz has studied technology in rural classrooms and elementary schools, developments in school accreditation, and ways to enhance a student’s learning.

While at UWF, Wentz has been Director of Pre-Student Teaching Field Experiences, Assistant Director of Student Teaching, Assistant Director of Clinical Studies, Director of Clinical Studies, Director of Teacher Certification and Field Experiences, Associate Dean of the College of Education and Director of Teacher Education Student Services, Interim Dean of the College of Education, Dean of the College of Education, Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership, Chair of the Division of Professional Studies, Foundations, and Technology, Director of the Educational Research and Development Center,  Interim Chair of the Department of Research and Advances Studies, and since 1999 has been State Director of the AdvancED/SACS CASI Operations office.
