Major Johnson received his commission as an Air Defense Artillery officer in 2001 at Virginia State University with a degree in Information Systems and Decision Sciences. MAJ Johnson earned a Masters Degree in Information Technology from Grantham University in 2012. He has been at UWF since 2017.

prior to serving at UWF, MAJ Johnson served as an operational planner and training officer for 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command at Fort Bliss, TX. MAJ Johnson has held leadership positions from the Platoon to Division Level.

MAJ Johnson is a graduate of the Foundation Instructor/Facilitator Course, Defense Strategy Course, Command and General Staff College, Air Defense Artillery Basic and Advanced Course, and the Military Transition Team Basic and Advanced Courses.

MAJ Johnson's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal and the Army Combat Badge.
