CAE Application, Peer Review/Mentoring and KU Mapping Workshop

Workshop Information: Faculty from institutions designated as NSA-DHS National Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) are invited to participate in a workshop that will provide guidance and resources for teaching secure software development courses and integrating these topics into cybersecurity program curricula. Faculty from CAE designated institutions in the Southeast US (AL, FL, GA, SC, TN and PR) are eligible for travel stipends. This workshop is coordinated and funded by the NSA CAE Regional Resource Center (CRRC) at the University of West Florida.


Limited Travel Funding: Stipends are available to support faculty travel from CAE institutions in the Southeast US (AL, FL, GA, SC, TN and PR) to the workshop. In order to receive a stipend you must register and be approved by the organizers. In order to be eligible for reimbursement or a travel stipend, attendees must participate in the full workshop, not be receiving travel support from any other source, and complete all required travel reimbursement/stipend forms. If you are approved for a travel stipend, you will be notified.

1:00 – 5:00 PM: KU Mapping Session

This workshop will cover how to map the knowledge units (KUs) in the Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Security (CAE) Application. If you are involved in KU mapping for any purpose, you will want to attend. The workshop will also cover frequently asked questions and common pitfalls with the criteria for the CAE application.

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Mentor/Peer Reviewer Training Workshop

This workshop will provide information for prospective and current faculty peer reviewers or mentors, including addressing how to evaluate applications for CAE2Y and CAE-CD designation. Faculty will review NSA's expectations with regard to meeting Program Criteria and Knowledge Unit mapping.
