Are you a rising senior looking for a career in Cybersecurity? Then Cybersecurity n00b to Pro is for you!


n00b to Pro: CompTIA Security+ Program

Join the UWF Center for Cybersecurity n00b to Pro Program. Where students will rub shoulders with cybersecurity experts and managers. Dress to impress and earn your credentials as a cybersecurity professional by becoming a certified CompTIA Security+ Professional.

When: May 8 - 12, 2017 - Testing on May 13, 2017
Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and half a day on May 13th
Where:
UWF Pensacola Campus

Students selected to participate in the program will participate in certificated instructor led training, professional development opportunities, guest lectures, and a scholarship that covers taking the CompTIA Security+ certification test at the conclusion of the program. Guest speakers from Navy Federal Credit Union, AppRiver, DHS and other Cybersecurity organizations will share career advice and opportunities. Finally, after training and professional development, it is test day!

After successfully passing your CompTIA Security+ test, you will have both the connections and credentials to make your mark on Florida’s Cyber Coast upon graduation!

Eligibility Requirements:

Students must be a rising senior in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Students must commit to attending all scheduled sessions in their entirety. Students who fail to attend will not be eligible to take the Security+ test at the end of the program.

You must also be majoring in one of the following:

Computing and Information Sciences, B.S.
Computer Science
Computer Information Systems
Cybersecurity
Software Engineering
Information Technology, B.S.
Information Technology
Network Systems Operations
Digital Enterprise
Computer Engineering, B.S.C.E.
Management Information Systems, B.S.B.A.

Eligibility Recommendations:

Successfully completed CIS 2530 Intro to Cybersecurity or CompTIA Network+ and two years of experience in IT administration with a security focus.


n00b to Pro: ISC2 CISSP Program

Eligibility Requirements:

Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must complete CNT4403 Compter and Network Security with an "A".
