Study of how public policy is made, especially at the national level. Focus is on current issues and events including the role of the President, Congress, interest groups, bureaucracy and the public. Extensive use of current news sources in the print, television, and internet media.

PUP 4025 Community Politics and Public Policy . . . . . 3(CALL DEPT)
Study of public policy making at the community level, with focus on the linkage between community politics and control at public policy in the community. Attention to concepts such as "power elites," "pluralism," "policy subsystem," "growth machines," and public opinion. Extensive field activities and guest speakers.
