This is an audition-only program.

Why Study Theatre at UWF?

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre will provide you with a hands-on, personalized education.

You will work closely in classes and on stage with faculty who provide training and experience to accelerate you to a professional level.

Our program affords the opportunity for you to hone your craft with industry professionals. This opportunity includes acting, musical theatre and design/technology.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre is an audition-only program. Students wanting to major in Theatre must select one of the three areas — performing arts, acting, or design technology — and audition in that area. Students will be assessed annually to demonstrate successful progress toward their degree.

What You Will Learn

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre has three specializations - Musical Theatre, Acting and Design/Technology. The three areas work together and individually to offer a dynamic learning environment. This environment allows you to build your skills in your specialization while learning alongside fellow students in their field. The Acting program provides Musical Theatre students the opportunity to dive deeper into acting, while the Musical Theatre program gives acting majors the opportunity to develop their musical theatre skills.

The UWF Department of Theatre is big enough to challenge you as an artist, but small enough to give you the individual attention you deserve.
