A Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy offers students a foundation in philosophical thought and analytical skills.
The BA degree in Philosophy is an ideal liberal arts major providing students with foundations for careers in areas such as business, writing, teaching, public administration, law, environmental advocacy, the social and human services and advanced studies in other humanities. The degree program helps students develop skills for problem solving in everyday life and emphasizes comprehension, communication, interpretation, criticism and evaluation.
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy demonstrate specific skills in projects and assignments throughout the course of their studies. Through a comprehensive capstone experience, students showcase academic accomplishments.

For Janelle Gormley, coming to UWF provided an opportunity to explore, be heard and change lives – including her own.
