The University of West Florida Department of Music provides students with a high quality, personalized, undergraduate education for careers in the fields of music performance and music education. Admittance to our programs is by audition only.

The University of West Florida is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), and has been accredited by NASM since 1971.

UWF's Center for Fine and Performing Arts specializes in showcasing the artistic, theatrical and musical work of UWF students. It's home to UWF performance, exhibitions and guest artists. For information on performances, exhibitions, tickets, and venue rentals, visit the UWF CFPA online.

Spaniola Creates Music, Teaches People How to Listen

Dr. Joseph Spaniola has spent 37 years composing and arranging music. For the last nine years he has drawn on these skills to teach students in the music department at the University of West Florida. His classes range from music theory to the history of rock ’n’ roll.

UWF Violinist Practices Craft for Hours Each Day

Price, a music performance major in his senior year at UWF, has been playing the violin since he was 9 years old. He plays violin in the University of West Florida Runge String Orchestra.
