Claudia O’Steen, a mixed media artist, produces work that includes drawing, video, sculpture, writing, performance and a range of processes such as casting, scanning, 3d printing/modeling, and frottage.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries in New York, Cincinnati, Nashville, and Providence, R.I.
On her website, she writes, “Through my research-based practice I examine navigation, exploration, perception, and the experience of being lost. I create languages to convey distance, scale, and direction, giving evidence to a process that has taken place and creating landscapes supplemented by scientific curiosity and human memory. This allows me to crystallize that which compels me to take measure, bringing close the wonder of the unknown.”
