Faculty Senate

“It is strongly recommended that no elected member of the Faculty Senate be a member of any other University standing committee, except the University Planning Council and/or its associated sub committees unless so directed by the Faculty Senate.   All faculty eligible to serve on the Faculty Senate must have a minimum of two (2) calendar years of full time employment with UWF before being elected to the Faculty Senate.”

Election Information

A faculty member may not serve on more than three committees at the same time.  All faculty of the rank of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor may vote (except where restricted to tenured faculty).  No visiting faculty of any rank may vote or run for office.

Election Procedures

Only those faculty in a given area within the college may vote for representatives from that area.Departments are grouped in the following divisions:

• Humanities and Fine Arts: Art; Communication Arts; English/Foreign Languages; History; Music; Philosophy/Religious Studies; Theatre
• Social Sciences: Anthropology; Government; Psychology
• Computational Sciences: Computer Science; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Mathematics/Statistics
• Natural Sciences: Biology/Nursing/Clinical Laboratory Sciences; Chemistry; Environmental Studies; Physics
