The College of Arts and Science has achieved many goals and points of excellence! They range from Faculty, Departments, Students, and Alumni! Learn more about our achievements in CAS in the above links and in the CAS Brag Book!
As UWF emerges from its institutional "adolescence," we are keenly aware of how critical it will be for all of our programs to seek and maintain programmatic excellence.
The academic year of 2010-11 was a significant one for those who pursue excellence in the College of Arts and Sciences. What follows is a briefing on each CAS program about that pursuit.
Each profile contains four or five bullet points that capture what makes the program stand out among its peers on campus as well as in their respective disciplines. Where appropriate, we highlight the high quality programs across the country that also contribute to the progress of the discipline, including how the discipline is taught and how it generates and applies new knowledge.
We also know that external validation is important to legitimizing quality. We offer you a relevant comment from academic program reviews or other knowledgeable visitors or community representatives to put our accomplishments in perspective.
Most important is the student perspective. Each program profile contains a statement or description from the student's point of view about why the student chose UWF and why he or she revels in the academic experiences UWF has to offer.
I invite you to take a look at all the CAS programs are accomplishing. I'm sure you will
agree with me that the time has come for "Bragging Rights!"
Sincerely,
Jane Halonen
