Faculty Catalyst Initiative

Introduction

The UWF Faculty Catalyst Initiative (FCI) is a Pace Academic Development Award funded project that was approved to support the scholarly and creative projects and activities of active and successful faculty within UWF.  A total of $30,000 was provided to fund awards of up to $5,000 for eligible faculty to support efforts related to the scholarly and creative activities.

Eligibility Requirements

Applications for the FCI award are invited from all interested full-time, non-visiting, faculty who are tenured or are on tenure track lines who meet all other additional criteria. Faculty receiving these awards must have taught three courses each fall and spring during the last three years and received a “Distinguished” evaluation in Scholarly and Creative Activities during the same three years. Additionally, the award recipient should have earned at least an “Excellent” evaluation during the most recent three years in teaching and service. Faculty members are ineligible for the FCI award if they already receive release time to conduct research or pursue creative activities. Similarly, Distinguished University Professors are not eligible because of resources already directed to support their work and the work of their departments.
