*Departmental Application deadline - for your departmental application to be considered all of the following must already be in place by this date; this process takes four weeks so advance planning is essential:

  • University admission (all transcripts received, evaluated, and recorded by University Office of Admissions)
  • Health Center immunization documents or waivers submitted to Health Center.
  • Department of Nursing online application submitted for the term you want to begin nursing coursework.  If you are accepted for the term you’ve requested and then decline to begin you will need to submit another application.
  • Be aware that financial aid may not be available in the summer (May and June).  If you are dependent on financial aid it is recommended you determine your financial aid status prior to applying for the summer terms.

** Upon receipt of departmental decision notification you are required to accept the offer of admission within 5 days by enrolling in Certified Background. You will then have the following to complete in preparation for courses to begin (further instructions will be sent with admission notification):

  • Apply for personal professional liability insurance (hospital coverage does NOT comply with this requirement)
  • Register for coursework
  • Activate Argonet accounts and UWF email account
  • Complete departmental online orientation
  • Complete uploading of all four documents into Certified Background
  • Order books for courses (do not wait until the first day of class)
  • Prepare to enter course on the first available day.  As the courses are 7 weeks in length there will be assignments due during the first week as well as enrollment verification for financial aid.
