What is a proseminar

The department's proseminar course is a one-semester hour course designed to engage the student in mathematical and/or statistical research above and beyond course materials. Each mathematics major student must satisfactorily complete the proseminar in order to graduate.

‌How to get started?

 After selecting an advisor

  • Meet with your advisor who will outline a meeting schedule to help you complete the proseminar in a timely manner.
  • It is absolutely necessary that you meet with your advisor, as you will not be allowed to make a presentation without your advisor's approval even if you feel that you have completed your research.
