UWF Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship

The Office of Diversity and International Education and Programs is happy to announce opportunities for Summer Study Abroad. Summer experiences offer a chance to study for a shorter term and for less money than traditional semester-long programs. Students have the opportunity to earn UWF credit while studying in another country and experiencing a new culture. Applicants for Study Abroad Programs must have a minimum 2.5 GPA; some programs require a higher GPA.

The complete list of programs is available on the UWF Study Abroad website at http://uwf.edu/studyabroad/.

The University of West Florida Foundation offers scholarships based on financial need, statement of purpose and academic achievement. Students applying for the Foundation Scholarship must have completed the application for their chosen program by the Scholarship Application Deadline of February 16, 2009. Scholarship applicants who have not completed their program application will not be considered. The UWF Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship is open to students applying to any location for Summer 2009, Fall 2009, and Spring 2010. Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship Applications are available on the Study Abroad Scholarship Page and in the Office of Diversity and International Education and Programs.

Summer programs have the same requirements for eligibility and application as fall/spring exchanges. Application materials and deadlines vary and additional items may be required for some programs. Students must apply through the Office of Diversity and International Education and Programs. All participants must attend an orientation before they leave UWF for their abroad experience. Contact the Office of Diversity and International Education and Programs at 474-2479 or email Sara Brake at sbrake@uwf.edu for more information about a specific summer study abroad opportunity.
