Web Development Certificate

The Certificate in Web Development is designed to prepare students, general practitioners, as well as professionals, for promising new careers as webmasters, application developers, designers, and managers of internet and web technologies.

Students will learn basic programming and database skills, how to program the web using PERL/CGI/ASP.NET and ColdFusion, fundamentals and infrastructure of e-commerce applications, how to create and implement applets into web applications, how to create dynamic web-pages, and about web-database connectivity and SQL basics with ColdFusion and ASP.NET.

The departmental certificate application should be submitted before the drop/add period of the semester of completion. All courses must have been completed within 5 years of receipt of application with a “C-“ or higher. Download the Application for Certificate Completion here.

To earn a Certificate in Web Development, participants must complete 12 hours from the following courses:

Programming Pre-requisite

Choose one of:

CGS 3464 Visual Programming
COP 2253 Java Programming
COP 2830 Script Programming

Required:

COP 4710 Database Systems

Choose two of:

CIS 4340 Web Server Technologies
COP3813 Internet Programming
CTS 4817 Web Server Administration
