Research Volunteer Signup Form

Thank you for your consideration to join a data pool of individuals committed to helping advance higher education through research.

The Center on Aging conducts regular research studies that required feedback from young, middle-aged and older adults. In order to streamline the process, the Center on Aging is establishing a database of individuals willing to be contacted from time to time (probably 2-4 times per years) to ask for participation in a variety of ongoing studies being conducted by faculty and students at the University of West Florida and our collaborators.

The information you provide today, will be maintained on a secure database and will be accessible by Center on Aging personnel for the purpose of contacting you via email about your availability to participate. At the times when a study becomes available, you will be emailed and you can decide whether to complete the study or not. In some cases, you may be paid for your participation, in other cases, it will be voluntary. Generally, these are survey based studies that take between 15 - 60 minutes with the longer studies typically including a monetary payment such as a gift card. If you are in the local area, you may have the opportunity to participate in clinical-based studies that may include free medical exams.

All studies will be reviewed by the University Institutional Review Panel before you are contacted via email. You are never under any obligation to participate and may have your name removed at any time for any reason. All surveys are anonymous and your personal information is never revealed to anyone, nor can your answers be linked to you. All data is securely stored and managed, and all reports based on your responses are aggregated and cannot be traced back to you. We will ask you for general information needed for any scientific study as it is impossible to conduct research without knowing something about those who respond. However, neither students, faculty, staff will be able to determine any individual responses with a name.

We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing results of the studies are participants help make possible. Feel free to contact the Center on Aging about this and other activities of the Center on Aging by emailing
