Janene Johnston

Janene graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2011 with a B.A. in Anthropology. Her undergraduate field school experience involved excavating the domestic slave quarters at James Madison's Montpelier. Since then, she has taken additional archaeology classes at Murray State University and served as an intern for the Center for American Archeology. The internship, which was focused on public education and outreach, consisted primarily of supervising both adult and high school students in the excavation of a prehistoric village site.

Janene is primarily interested in public archaeology and is very excited to be working with the Florida Public Archaeology Network as a public archaeology intern. Her research interests are currently very broad, encompassing almost all of terrestrial, historical archaeology site types.

Degree and focus: Historical Archaeology.
