Jackie Rodgers

Jackie Rodgers received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in Austin, double majoring in Anthropology and American Studies. She has done field work with the University of Texas at La Milpa, a classical Mayan site in Belize, and in Austin. She has also done field work with Missouri State University at a Woodland site and at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield. After graduating in 2010, she worked as an intern for the Texas Historical Commission's archaeology department. She has worked as a supervisor for UWF's campus survey field school in 2011 and on various other projects in the Pensacola area since then. Currently she works as the senior collections assistant for UWF. Her research interests include the colonial period, the antebellum period, gender roles, foodways, battlefield archaeology, and public archaeology. Her thesis will focus on interactions between Pensacola's historic Red Light District and the surrounding community.
