After March closes, the office will begin preparing the 3rd Quarter BOT Report which provides budget and actual numbers as of March 31, 2014 for the BOT Finance and Facilities Committee Meeting on May 23rd. We will continue working on gathering budget information for the estimated budget for FY 14-15 to be presented to the Board of Trustees (BOT) at the June meeting. We also are continuing to run the weekly processes to verify that the correct codes are being used for the FY 13-14 transactions that will be submitted to the Board of Governors on the Operating Budget File that is submitted to the Board of Governors (BOG) in August.
The UWF Courier. Postal Services delivers university mail, correspondence and small packages on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to off campus UWF related locations. The Courier leaves main campus at 8:00 AM and returns at 3:00 PM. Bistro Blue To Do Double-Time - Bistro Blue will be used as a traveling concession stand for UWF's home baseball and softball games, on occasion, taking it away from it's home between buildings 12 and 18. The use of the truck for concessions will allow for better concessions placement and a greater variety of foods provided for the sporting events. Loyal diners at Bistro Blue should plan to visit another Dining location on Friday, April 18. We apologize for any inconvenience.

East Campus Restaurant Development - UWF Business Enterprises, Inc., in partnership with Compass/Chartwells, hosted a successful Groundbreaking Ceremony on Friday, April 4, 2014. This groundbreaking marks the beginning of a very exciting time for the University. Construction is slated to begin on the East Campus Restaurant site in late April. Compass/Chartwells is working to identify the vendors and hopes to announce the vendors soon. BEI is expecting to open the East Campus "Argonaut Village" in winter 2014.
University Park -The Pre-Development phase is nearing completion to create an acceptable business plan for viable/achievable component priorities. The goal will be to complete the subsequent Development phase to enable site work to begin within the 42 - acre mixed-use development during Fall 2014. Occupancy of Phase I components is planned for August, 2016.
Northwest Retirement Village -This proposed 55+ active independent living community will be located on 289 acres of west campus. There will be internal strategic discussion based on the report and interrelationship with academic programs.
Facilities Development and Operations (FDO)
Renovation Request - Campus constituents requesting projects have 2 options, a) Submit a "Construction Project and Space Form," throughout the calendar year by calling Mark Pursell, Ext. 3240, or Robin Anderson, Ext. 3427, or completing the forms available on the "Facilities Development and Operations" web site, or b) The Facilities Planning Advisory Committee (F.P.A.C.), represented by all University Divisions, soliciting projects has concluded. The F.P.A.C. will meet Thursday, March 6, 2014.
The College of Business: Phase III of III design negotiations have been completed for renovations of Buildings 53, 74, and 76. Renovations will begin during the spring of 2014. Construction management negotiations are in progress. This is a $8.4 million State of Florida appropriated project funded last spring.
The Recreation Field Improvements near Building 90 and East Campus Tennis Court, Phase I of II projects is in progress. Completion of the Recreation Field Improvements is scheduled for October, 2014. Funding was obtained from student fees.
UWF Competing in 2014 RecycleMania: UWF is joining students from 400+ Universities across the US and Canada to compete in an eight-week recycling competition known as RecycleMania , a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for the schools recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to the campus. This year's competition runs from Feb. 2-March 29. Weekly waste and recycling weights are tabulated to determine school rankings. At the end of the competition the winning school will be nationally recognized and will receive an award made of recycled material and will win the right to host the perpetual Waste Minimization Trophy for the following year.
