East Campus Restaurant Development Focus Groups
Your assistance would be appreciated in providing feedback on the proposed East Campus Restaurant Development. Tomorrow, December 11, there will be several focus group sessions held with the purpose being to obtain information from various constituents regarding the restaurant development planned for East Campus (Hwy. 90 and Davis Hwy.). UWF Business Enterprises Inc. and Compass/Chartwells are hosting the focus groups. A display will be set up for attendees to review and input will be solicited. The sessions will be held in the B. 12 Alumni Room and light refreshments will be provided.

UWF Bookstore - Kick off your Holiday Shopping at the UWF Bookstore Annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Event being held Nov. 21, 8:00am - 6:00pm and Nov. 22, 8:00am-5:00pm. A 25% total discount will be extended on select merchandise.
Parking Services - The number of UWF students using ECAT busses to travel around town has dramatically increased this fall. The word is out that Parking and Transportation Services provides free bus passes and they can now be picked up at the BAS office in Bldg. 20W.

Business & Property Development
Scenic Hills Country Club - Implementation of a new financial and Point of Sale system (Jonas) at SHCC is currently underway with completion set for the first week of December. The new software and system will improve financial reporting and business operations at the club.
Request for Proposals - An RFP has been issued on behalf of BEI to contract for Professional Accounting Services for the Direct Support Organization. The term of the agreement will be for five years. Proposals are due by December 18th.
Business Enterprises, Inc. (B.E.I.)
East Campus Restaurant Development - Chartwells, the University's Dining Contractor, and their design team members, will be on campus December 10th to present site plan development concepts and obtain input from Focus Groups for the four (4) venues, yet to be determined. Three (3) venues will be restaurants and one (1) will be a program (i.e., FedEx, UPS, etc.) business. The focus group schedule is being developed. B.E.I. will submit the schedule to "@UWF" when the information becomes available. We hope to see you on December 10th. Pending outcomes from this process, we plan to initiate construction during the spring of 2014 and occupy during the fall semester 2014.
University Park - Progress continues with the Pre-Development phase to create an acceptable business plan for viable/achievable component priorities. The goal is to complete the subsequent Development phase to enable site work to begin within the 42-acre mixed-use development during the fall of 2014. Occupancy of Phase I components is planned for August, 2016.
Northwest Retirement Village - This proposed 55+ active independent living community will be located on 289 acres of west campus. The Master Developer has contracted with a consultant to perform a market study.
Facilities Development and Operations (F.D.O.)
Renovation Requests - Campus constituents requesting projects have two (2) options,
a) Submit a "Construction Project and Space Form," throughout the calendar year by calling Mark Pursell, x3240, Robin Anderson, x3427, or completing the forms available on the "Facilities Development and Operations" web site, and
b) The Facilities Planning Advisory Committee represented by all University Divisions solicits projects each January to Academic Deans, Department Chairs, and Administrators. This request is scheduled to occur during mid-January, 2014.
The College of Business, Phase III of III design and construction management negotiations are in progress for renovations of Buildings 53, 74, and 76. Renovations will start during the spring of 2014. This is a $8.4 million State of Florida appropriated project funded last spring.
The Recreation Field Improvements near Building 90 and East Campus Tennis Court, Phase I of II projects are in progress. Completion of the Recreation Field Improvements is scheduled for October, 2014. Funding was obtained from student fees.
