Medical professionals professionals include doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists, radiology technologists, physical and occupational therapists and many, many other categories are involved in patient care.  UWF prepares nurses and clinical lab scientists through the Nursing and Clinical Laboratory Sciences programs, 4 year professional degrees. Careers that require post baccalaureate work include medical doctors, doctors of osteopathy, optometrist, physical therapists, PhD level scientists and several others.  All of these degrees begin with a pre-professional core.  Most advanced fields require a special achievement test, taken after the junior year.  The table on the Professional Degree Options link lists several distinct doctoral degrees, an official website with more information, and the special admissions exam that is required for that degree.
