John R. Todorovich

Dr. John R. Todorovich currently serves as the department chair for Health, Leisure and Exercise Science at the University of West Florida. He has held this position since 2007 and has been a faculty member with UWF since 2005. Prior to his appointment at the University of West Florida, Dr. Todorovich was a faculty member at the University of Wyoming from 1999-2001 and the University of Florida from 2001-2005.

Dr. Todorovich completed his education at the University of Alabama, specializing in Human Performance Pedagogy with additional training in Health Education, Educational Psychology, and a research proficiency in statistics. While completing his graduate degrees, Dr. Todorovich was an elementary school teacher and high school sports coach in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

As chair of the Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science, Dr. Todorovich has led the department through a period of substantial growth in student enrollment, faculty and student research, and faculty and student community engagement. The Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science is currently one of the largest and most productive departments at the University of West Florida and serves students in a variety of disciplines that range from Hospitality, Recreation and Resort Management to Exercise Science.

Dr. Todorovich considers his long time marriage to his wife Sarah, a teacher in Santa Rosa County, and his two children, Ethan and Madelyn, as his greatest successes. When not engaged in the work life of a university administrator and faculty member, Dr.Todorovich enjoys coaching youth sports, cooking, morning jogs and quiet evenings with his family.
