Figure Drawing: Body Language

Workshop Description:

Figure Drawing: Body Language

The expressive postures and gestures of the human form convey an endless variety of subtle, and not so subtle, emotional states.  To be rendered convincingly, the artist must begin by understanding the body’s structure.  Knowing where the skeletal muscles are attached is just the starting point however; it is the science behind the poetry.  No wonder that the knowledge of the body’s structure remains an essential key to visual communication!  In this workshop, you will explore the nuances of gesture and expression through a study of the nude form.  You will refresh your drawing skills, and hone your ability to render the body’s expressive potential, whether your figure is faithfully rendered down to the last detail, or boldly drawn in a broad, gestural hand.
