Though Pakistan has an improved capacity for telecommunications, only a small percentage of the population has a land phone line and telephones of any kind are non-existent in rural areas. Mobile phone use and internet access by mobile phones have grown significantly in the cities though the use of personal computers is still low. The major sources of news come from radios, newspapers, and televisions (though, less than half the population owns a television) [25].
