Men wear the shalwar kurta or kameez; a loose fitting trouser (shalwar) and a long shirt, both plain in color, falling just above or below the man's knees (kurta/kameez) [18]. Men may also wear a vest or coat and some type of head piece like a turban, cap, or fez. In urban centers men may be seen wearing western style clothing such as jeans or slacks. Footwear usually consists of dress shoes or sandals. Shorts are never worn except when playing sports.
