Academic Integrity:

Academic integrity is vital to the UWF community. Students must understand what academic integrity is, why it is important to UWF faculty, and, most important, why it is important to them.

Every student coming to UWF should understand what UWF's policies and procedures are regarding academic integrity. To aid in this effort, it is recommended that all faculty AND all students become familiar with UWF's Academic Misconduct Code.

The UWF Academic Misconduct Code
is on pages 38-43 of the 77-page,
University of West Florida Student Planner and Handbook for 2011-2012.

Students should be frequently reminded of UWF's commitment to academic integrity, and our expectations of student academic behavior. Additionally, students should be provided the instruction and resources that make Academic Integrity a desirable and achievable goal.

Finally, it is important to note that policies, proctors, techniques, technologies, and enforcement are necessary to discourage cheating and plagiarism.
