The Academic Technology Center is proud to announce the first blended course at UWF to achieve Quality Matters certification. Dr. Wil Hugli's course, GEO3471-World Affairs is now listed in the QM national database of quality courses! The course was reviewed and recognized both by an internal faculty review team at UWF and then by an external Quality Matters (QM) Peer Review Team, as having met quality expectations by aligning to national standards of best practice in online/blended course design.
Dr. Hugli's fully online course - GEA 2000 - Nations and Regions of the World,was also reviewed and recognized by an external Quality Matters (QM) Peer Review Team.
Dr. Hugli is a Faculty Associate in the Department of Environmental Science and an environmental consultant. Wil has taught environmental sciences courses for UWF and several colleges for over 15 years and has taught online for 14 years. His teaching experience includes middle and high school, adult and special education, and inmate programs. He has designed very high accuracy GPS mapping and monitoring capability for projects including hazardous chemical release control documentation with integrated meteorological, climatological, and hydrological data. He is a certified instructor and instructor trainer for United States Power Squadrons and American Red Cross. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society, National Registry of Environmental Professionals, and ACSD. He and his wife Jackie have been married 50 years and have two daughters and one grandson. Sometimes he claims several grand dogs.
