Tressa Kelly

Congratulations to Dr. Kelly! The Academic Technology Center is proud to recognize Dr. Kelly for achieving official QM certification for her fully online course, SPC4710 - Intercultural Communication.


Dr. Tressa Kelly earned a Ph.D. focusing on feminist rhetorical criticism at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. In 2010, Dr. Kelly was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award by the students of the University of West Florida.  In the classroom, she teaches courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels including: Speech Writing Analysis and Delivery, Rhetorical Criticism, Communication Research Methods, Intercultural Communication, and Strategic Presentational Speaking. Dr. Kelly also serves as the department’s Basic Course Director. She has been teaching online for six years and currently teaches two classes in the online platform: intercultural communication and gender communication.


In preparation for her QM course review, Dr. Kelly successfully completed the following professional development opportunities offered by ATC:

  • Designing a Quality Online Course
  • Quality Online Teaching: Essential Skills and Advanced Skills
  • Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Course
  • Quality Matters Peer Reviewer Course
