Faculty Highlights: Stacie Whinnery

Stacie WhinneryCongratulations to Dr. Stacie Whinnery! The Academic Technology Center is proud to announce that Dr. Whinnery's fully online course - EEX 4255 - Curriculum for Teaching Students with Exceptionalities, was reviewed and recognized by an external Quality Matters (QM) Peer Review Team as having met quality expectations in online course design.

Dr. Whinnery's course was reviewed by a team of external faculty peer reviewers from other institutions across the United States trained in applying the Quality Matters rubric standards. Her course is designated as being aligned to national standards of best practice in online course design. Review team members take the students' perspective with regard to clarity and organization of an online course, providing feedback on course design by awarding points for specific review standards. QM Review Standards reflect national standards of best practice and research literature.

Dr. Whinnery is a Professor in the School of Education in the area of Special Education. She has been teaching online classes since fall 2004 at UWF. Additionally, she has developed and taught non credit online courses related to programming for individuals with severe disabilities that have been delivered worldwide.
