Congratulations June Watkins! The Academic Technology Center is proud to announce that June's fully online course - REL 3213 - Hebrew Scriptures, has been awarded Quality Matters (QM) Certification.
Reviewed by a team of external faculty peer reviewers from other institutions across the United States trained in applying the Quality Matters rubric standards, June's course is designated as being aligned to national standards of best practice in online course design. Review team members take the students' perspective with regard to clarity and organization of an online course, providing feedback on course design by awarding points for specific review standards. Thanks to June for her commitment to quality course design and instruction.
June is an instructor in the Philosophy Department . She holds an MA degree in Humanities and an MA degree in Religion from the Claremont Graduate University School of Religion, where she is currently a PhD Candidate in Philosophy of Religion. June has been teaching online since 2002 and is a 2004 recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award. June completed the QM Peer Reviewer Certification in Summer 2010 and became a Certified QM Trainer in Fall 2010.
We are also excited to have June on our ATC team! June supports faculty with the design of quality online courses at UWF through online workshops such as the "Applying the Quality Matters Rubric to Online/Blended Courses," a two-week online course and a six-week fully-online course called "Teaching a Quality Online Course." June works with ATC to promote the use of the QM process as a strategy to improve the overall quality of new and existing online/blended courses at UWF.
