Getting Ready to Teach your Course Checklist
Ensure your course technology codes have been set in ClassMate to designate course as an eLearning course:
- Access Classmate from the Classmate tab in MyUWF
- The eLearning tech code must be set:
- To enroll students into the course shell
- Before course sections can be linked
After the complete course has been developed, test all aspects of the course from the student's perspective including:
- course navigation
- content accuracy
- content and media display
- internal and external links
- functionality of individual course components
For previously developed courses:
- In addition to completing some of the items above, there is course maintenance that you will need to complete each semester for course copied from a previous semester. Here are some suggested tasks:
- Make minor updates to content (as needed)
- Make any necessary changes to your schedule and syllabus (check assignment due dates)
- Check release dates for content, quizzes, dropbox, etc.
- Make calendar entries
Once your course begins, you will:
- Facilitate and manage all aspects of your online course
- Update your course information as needed
- Interact and communicate with your students online via discussions, chat or Elluminate Live! sessions
- Monitor your students' interactions and communications
- Provide timely feedback and grades on questions and assignments/assessments
- Track student progress
