The QM Course Review Process @ UWF
The QM course review process is:
- a faculty-driven, peer review process with the emphasis on continuous quality improvement
- a collegial review process, not an evaluation process
- a supportive and effective framework to improve the quality of course design for online and blended courses
- a team-based approach consisting of the faculty developer and three trained faculty peer reviewers
Once you have completed both ATC training courses, you are eligible to submit your course for an internal QM review. The following checklist will help determine whether your course is ready for an internal review:
Once your course has met quality standards through an internal review, the course receives the UWF Quality Online Course Seal and is eligible to be submitted for an official external QM review. The internal review process is conducted by a team of trained peer reviewers here at UWF and helps prepare you for what to expect in an external review.
External reviews are managed by QM staff and consist of trained faculty peer reviewers from other institutions across the U.S. Not all courses meet quality expectations in the initial review, however faculty are given a reasonable timeframe to make the recommended amendments to the course and resubmit for approval. Instructional design assistance to prepare for a QM course review is available through ATC.
