Planning your Online Course
The following tasks should be completed as you begin planning your online course. You will find links to resources on the right to help you plan your course.
- Develop your Syllabus.
- Define course goals and learning objectives.
- Identify topics to be covered to meet course goals and objectives.
- Course Organization and Structure
- Plan a consistent structure for your course - The ATC course design template has a built-in structure.
- Identify possible activities/assignments/assessments that will help students achieve targeted goals and objectives.
- Learn to use eLearning, UWF's Learning Management System (LMS) - Desire2Learn (D2L). Students know it as eLearning, not D2L.
- Familiarize yourself with Universal Design to ensure that your course is accessible to all students and meets the requirements of the American's With Disabilities Act.
- Familiarize yourself with the characteristics of online learners and the online environment.
