Building your Course in eLearning

Be sure to check out ATC's new Quality Online Course Program initiative!

Building your Course Checklist

Once you complete the planning phase, it is time to begin building your course in eLearning (D2L). Tasks included in this phase are:

  1. Developing your course structure
  2. Setting up your Gradebook
  3. Creating or copying course content
  4. Creating assessments
  5. Setting up course notifications (Intelligent Agents)
  6. Setting up course communication tools

Course Structure - The ATC Course Design Template

The ATC Design Template was created to assist faculty in developing online courses that contain key elements of the Quality Matters standards. It is a great place to start for faculty new to online learning or if you need a logical, consistent and efficient structure for your online course(s).

Whether you use the ATC Template or create your own HTML files, there are several best practices to follow in editing or creating pages within eLearning.
