As a student in the Art Department, you will be part of a vibrant community of more than twenty instructors and over 200 majors. You can choose among several degree paths in the visual arts, depending on your career goals (Degree Programs).

But whether your choice is studio art, graphic design, art history, or art education, you will find yourself immersed in a stimulating artistic environment, one that challenges you intellectually and creatively to fulfill your potential.

Class sizes are small, and the instruction individualized, so you will not be just another face in the crowd at UWF. As an Art major,you will enjoy personal attention from professionals in the field (Faculty and Staff).

You will find too that learning is encouraged beyond the classrooms and the studios.

• Through the workshop and lecture series, Genius Loci, you will meet with visiting artists, critics and art historians, people who are identifying and shaping visual culture (Genius Loci).
• Perhaps you will become a member of the student club at the Department of Art, known as the ARTery, and attend its Film Noctis series (Student Organizations).
• In any event, your creative impulse will be stimulated by the many exhibitions at The Art Gallery(The Art Gallery), as well as host of other activities both on and off campus.
