Alarm-Triggered Web-Connected Video Surveillance System

Abstract:
We designed a secure web-connected security system that, when alarm triggered, allows the
monitoring person/company to remotely conduct a video and audio surveillance of the
property. To guard against misuse and protect the privacy of the property occupants, the
system is triggered only when an alarm is set by an intruder. When triggered, the system
transmits real time audio and video feeds via the web from cameras and microphones
installed on the property. The monitoring company y/person can see and hear what’s going
on inside the property and can direct the proper authorities depending on the situation.
The system was prototyped for less than $400 and was successfully tested and shown to be
secure and reliable.
