Nick Laracuente received his B.A. in Anthropology and Classical Studies from Tulane University. His undergrad field school at Poverty Point sparked his interest in archaeology. Since then he has worked for Northwestern State University on phase I surveys of the Camp Beauregard National Guard Training Area and a phase III investigation of Melrose plantation in cooperation with University College London. He mapped the American Cemetery for the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training. He served as site archaeologist for the Cane River Creole National Historical Park before pursuing his MA at UWF. He is currently a teaching assistant processing artifacts from the 2007 field season.
