Jess Hendrix graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2012 with a BA in History and a minor in Anthropology. He has worked on several historic and prehistoric archaeological sites throughout the lowcountry of Horry and Georgetown counties, South Carolina. Summer 2012, Jess worked as a site assistant for Coastal Carolina Universityâ€™s field school, which conducted excavations on slave cabins of an eighteenth century rice plantation. Currently, Jess is serving as an intern at the Florida Public Archaeology Network as Field Director at the Scott Site, an early 19th century brickyard in northern Santa Rosa County. Jessâ€™ interests include: the colonial period, plantation & slavery archaeology, underwater & maritime archaeology, battlefield archaeology, pre-historic trade networks, and public archaeology.
