Jay Bixler is in his second year of graduate studies at the University of West Florida, seeking a Masters degree in Historical Archaeology. He is primarily interested in late colonial/early American sites, particularly sites that show the development of industrialization. Jay has completed two field seasons in the area; the Barkley House in 2008 and Arcadia Mill Village in 2009. Currently, Jay is serving as an intern at the Florida Public Archaeology Network as Field Director at the Scott Site, an early 19th century brickyard in northern Santa Rosa County. He is also an 8 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
