Larry James received his B.A. in American History, with a minor in Anthropology, from the College of Charleston. His interest in archaeology was ignited when he received a scholarship from the Archeological Society of Charleston to attend a seminar and expedition at the Topper Site located in Allendale, SC, with the Institute of Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of South Carolina. Larry also volunteered with archaeologists at South Carolina’s Colonial Dorchester State Park and participated as an assistant with the Discover Carolina Program teaching children archaeology. His graduate thesis work will focus on the British Period of Pensacola’s history (1763-1783), especially the Revolutionary War Siege of Pensacola.
