James D. Collis is a graduate student in the underwater program and is currently writing his thesis on the hull structure of the first Emanuel Point Wreck. His professional background includes six years in the United States Air Force as an intelligence analyst and operation of his own successful publishing services company for over two decades. Graduating with high honors in 2004 from the University of Florida with an undergraduate degree in Anthropology, he immediately applied to and was accepted into the graduate program at UWF. Jim is particularly proud of the instrumental part he played supervising the discovery of the historically important second Emanuel Point Wreck in 2006. Upon graduation, Jim intends to pursue a career that will utilize his terrestrial and underwater training and experience in both historic and prehistoric settings.
