Chris Dewey graduated from the University of West Florida in 2011 with a B.A. degree in Maritime Studies and a minor in Anthropology. He is a retired Naval Officer currently studying Maritime Archaeology. His thesis focuses on the site formation processes of the wreck of a Civil War steamer that burned and sank in the Pensacola Pass in 1866. His interests include: maritime history and folklore, maritime archaeological remote sensing, and public archaeology/history outreach. He also holds B. S. and M. S. degrees in Business from Troy State University.
