Ben Wells is from Pennsylvania and completed his B.A. in anthropology with a history minor at Mercyhurst University in 2010. During his time there, Ben was a supervisor for a processing and historics lab and participated in various CRM projects in the western Pennsylvania area. He has participated in the NOAA funded Researching the Submerged New World Project, which focuses on mapping and testing of inundated landscapes in the northeast
Gulf of Mexico. Since relocating to Pensacola, Ben has participated in the combined field school and been a supervisor for the maritime field school. His research interests include submerged prehistoric landscapes, slave ships and the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
