Is our research right for you? We are always looking for undergraduates to work in the lab.
You may work in the lab for directed study:
- Earn 3 credit hours per semester. For each hour of directed study, you must sign up for one hour of lab time.
- Your role will change according to semester. During the Fall semester, we work on research design and implementation. During the Spring semester, we finish collecting data and work on data analysis and dissemination. It is to your benefit to do two semesters in the AML.
- There will be occasional lab meetings to look at the data, discuss current studies, etc. These lab meetings will not be regularly scheduled, but will be held as deemed necessary by Dr. VanWormer.
- There will be presentation opportunities each academic year. You may attend a local or regional conference to present a poster or a paper, or you may find a local community group that would like to learn more about what we do at the AML.
To sign up for a directed study, you must have the permission/signature of Dr. VanWormer. To be considered for the lab, you must have 1) taken at least one course from Dr. VanWormer and 2) received a B or better in those courses.
