University Student Ambassador Program (USA)
Since 1987, the Student Ambassador Program has been the premier leadership organization on campus. Ambassadors are comprised of the 25 best candidates from the Student Alumni Association and are appointed by UWF President Dr. Judy Bense to serve as the Official Hosts and Hostesses of the University of West Florida. Famous for their green jackets, the Ambassadors are called upon to assist at important University events such as Fall and Spring Commencement, Donor Dinners, the President’s Barbeque, Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremonies and much more.
As student leaders, they devote a minimum of ten hours per month to special campus and/or community activities. These student volunteers are selected through an interview process based on minimum GPA requirement, communication abilities and an interest in promoting UWF. The ambassadors have assisted with numerous university functions and served as liaisons between students, faculty, alumni, parents and the community. Each new group of Ambassadors will complete an orientation that includes an overview of UWF's history, organizational structure, familiarity of campus layout and practice tours. Ambassadors also have the distinction of being able to serve on the Student Alumni Association (SAA) Leadership Council, the executive board of the Argos 4-Ever.
The Ambassador program is supported by the UWF Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Relations.
Interested in this great opportunity? Ambassadors who are at least a second semester Freshman will be chosen each Fall and Spring as needed, so be sure to attend as many SAA events as possible to ensure you get the best chance to be considered for this prestigious group!
