The Design and Survey Records Management Team under Architectural & Engineering Services, develops, coordinates, and maintains the University’s facilities electronic and paper architectural, engineering, and survey documents.  This includes the main campus, downtown campus, Emerald Coast Campus and UWF leased buildings.

The department is responsible for safely maintaining the campus maps, utility infrastructure maps, building reference plans, roadways, hard surfaces, electronic & paper files, and all historical documentation reproduction.  We archive newly completed projects in an effective organized filing system assuring availability for Facility Services Departments.  We work closely with UWF Project Managers and all Facilities Management Staff to make sure they have the drawings and specifications they need to make repairs to buildings and campus utilities.

Our team’s GPS capabilities allow us to survey as needed on the university grounds.  GPS provides accurate three-dimensional positioning information for natural and artificial features that can be displayed on our campus maps.

We prepare and organize the design submittal document review, which takes place in Bldg. 90, Room 101, for all campus projects; produce AutoCAD drawings for all in-house projects as well as conceptual designs for upcoming projects; prepare working drawings for these projects as needed; monitor the current projects occurring on campus to prepare for close-out and as-built drawings.

Our team works with architects, consultants, construction managers, contractors, and vendors through phases of design development, to ensure UWF Design and Construction Standards are met.
