Congratulations to two of our ADVANCE Scholars for receiving 2012-2013 UWF Distinguished Faculty Awards! Dr. Jane Caffrey, Dept. of Biology and CEDB received the Distinguished Faculty Research & Creative Activities Award for External Funding and Dr. Florentina Tone, Dept. of Math and Statistics received the Distinguished Faculty Research & Creative Activities Award for Scholarly & Creative Activities. Scholars Week 2013 will begin on Tuesday, April 23 and end on Friday, April 26. This event combines various conferences held on campus into a week long symposium. UWF Scholars Week 2013 includes a NSF UWF Faculty ADVANCE keynote address, Women's Studies Conference, Society of Women Engineers Symposium, Student Scholars Symposium, and the NSF UWF Faculty ADVANCE Annual Showcase. Dr. Karen Molek, Department of Chemistry, invited Dr. Kimberley Frederick, Associate Professor of Chemistry at Skidmore College to visit UWF in the Spring of 2013. She will be on campus April 18th and 19th. Dr. Frederick's talk will be on Thursday, April 18 from 3-4pm in Building 58A Room 113. She will also be meeting with ADVANCE Scholars for lunch on April 18 from 11:30am-1pm as well as meeting with ADVANCE Scholars individually on Friday, April 19. We are excited for her visit!
