Admissions Awards and Scholarships

Incoming freshman and transfer students who have demonstrated high academic achievement have the opportunity to receive merit based admission scholarships. Apply early to receive priority consideration.


Freshman Admission Scholarship Opportunities

  • January 1, 2014  - Scholarship Priority Deadline
  • Priority consideration for scholarships will be given to Freshmen who are admitted for the fall semester by January 1.

Pace Presidential Scholarship

Pace Presidential Scholarships are awarded to students with an exceptional high school academic record, test scores, interviews with faculty and a timed essay at the President's Scholarship Competition. Eligible students will receive an invitation to compete for a Pace Presidential Scholarship. These are academic merit awards for incoming admitted fall term freshmen and who have been offered admission by the scholarship priority deadline.  The total award amount (over $50,000) covers full tuition & fees and on-campus room & board for four years.

Nautilus Scholarship

Nautilus Scholarships are awarded to students with an exceptional high school GPA and standardized test scores. These are academic merit awards are for incoming admitted fall term freshmen and who have been offered admission by the scholarship priority deadline.  The total award amount ranges from $6,000 to $24,000 over a four year period. The first round of Nautilus Scholarships will be awarded in early February, after the President's Scholarship Competition. No scholarship application is required. 

Argonaut Scholarship

Argonaut Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman students with exceptional academics and who demonstrate financial need.  Priority consideration for the Argonaut Scholarship will be given to students who have been admitted for the fall semester by January 1 and who have submitted their FAFSA by the March 1 Financial Aid Priority Deadline. The total award amount ranges from $500 to $3,000 and are one-year only scholarships. The Argonaut Scholarship is awarded during a student's financial aid awarding process. No scholarship application is required, but a student must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for consideration.

John C. Pace, Jr. Honors Scholarship

The Pace Honors Scholarship is one of the University of West Florida's most prestigious academic awards for incoming students. Priority is to those applicants who demonstrate both outstanding academic achievement and leadership potential. An application is required, to learn more visit UWF Honors Scholarships.


Transfer Admission Scholarship Opportunities

Nautilus Scholarship

Nautilus Transfer Scholarships are for students entering UWF during a fall semester and who will have earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. The scholarship ranges from $2,000 to $4,000 per year and is renewable for an additional year. Selection is based upon the cumulative transfer grade point average. Priority consideration for these scholarships will be given to transfer students who are admitted by March 1. No scholarship application is required. 

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship

PTK Scholarships are for students entering UWF during a fall semester and who will have earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from a Florida state college or community college with proof of membership in Phi Theta Kappa.   The scholarship ranges from $2,000 to $4,000 per year and is renewable for an additional year. Selection is based upon the cumulative transfer grade point average. Priority consideration for these scholarships will be given to transfer students who are admitted by March 1. No scholarship application is required, but you must submit proof of your PTK membership.
